Black Panther (2018 film)

Black Panther follows all the clichés of a superhero film. The hero is the heir apparent. There are doubters who don’t think he deserves it. He proves them wrong. There is a wise old man, that keeps the hero grounded. Then an outsider comes out to challenge him. Turns out he is not an outsider but from hero’s own tribe, wronged by Hero’s own tribe. The hero is conflicted whether his path is right or wrong. He overcomes the challenger and changes his way to save the world. Continue reading Black Panther (2018 film)

Fruitvale Station (2013 Film)

Fruitvale Station is a heart-breaking film if you just see it as fiction. The fact that it’s a true story but the filmmaker had to add things to make Oscar look good, ruins the film for me to a certain degree. For me, the message would’ve been more poignant if it were a story of any black guy killed by any police officer.
